Hi,
I am staying in Innsbruck Austria.
I am planning to visit Nueschwanstein castle on Feb 14 or 16 or 17 this year.
Could you please tell me how I can go to Nueschwanstein castle from Innsbruck.
I have heard that there are the bus to go but I couldn't find the details (timetable or fee).

If someone knows the details of the bus or the other way to go to Nueschwanstein castle from Innsbruck, please tell me.

Look, I did a search on german railway (www.bahn.de) and there are some means of transportation between Innsbruck and Hochenschwangau (Schwangau).

It's like this:
- Innsbruck Hbf (trainstation) to Oberau with the R5420 train at 2.38pm .. 3 min. walk to Oberau Bahnhof (trainstation)
- Oberau Bahnhof to Echelsbacher Brücke, Rottenbuch with the Bus 9606 at 4.55pm
- Echelsbacher Brücke, Rottenbuch to Hohenschwangau, Schwangau with the Bus 73 at 6.08pm

I will look for a more direct link though. There must be something simpler.

Another option:

1. Innsbruck Hbf to Oberau with R5412 (train), leaving platform 22 at 0.35am
2. Walk 3 minutes to Oberau Bahnhof
3. Oberau Bahnhof to Hohenschwangau, Schwangau with Bus no.9606 (dirrection Füssen Bahnhof), leaving at 1.20pm

Or you can just rent a car and drive 1h30min (some 110km) from Innsbruck to Schwangau (check out itinerary on www.maporama.com or www.viamichelin.com)
