Hi,

The page below has listed the status of hotels in Sri Lanka. Yours is included and, though it is closed at present, the listing states it will be open again by the end of March, which is far from your honeymoon, fortunately for you ... and everybody else over there.

If you want to keep an eye on developments, click periodically on the link below and it will redirect you to the page of reference.

Good luck and happiness in your marriage!

Hi
I was in palm garden in september. Like the previous post i am aware it was badly damaged but that it should be fully open by spring.
A few things you might want to consider though are that this hotel is a club hotel - think butlins with the day starting with the "good morning song" and lots of cheesy entertainment going on. The hotel itself is very pretty but the rooms are basic. If i were you i would if possible change to the Eden, its about 100 meters along the beach and owned by the same company as palm garden but is a lot nicer with much better facilities and pool - also a lot prettier.
The other thing you should be aware of is that July is monsoon in this area, so a wedding under the palm trees might not be a good idea!
If you need any tips / advice let me know.
Chris

I was due to get married at Club Palm Garden on the 6th February, but our tour operator has moved us to Cuba, as the hotel was shut. It maybe re opened by July. Just keep in close contact with your wedding co-ordinator, which tour operator are you with?

I agree that the hotel is VERY Butlins.

I got married there at the end of August and had we been on our own it would have been a nightmare. With a dozen guests it was quite amusing and we got endless amusement from the animation team - often at their expense!!

The hotel is closed until the 1st August. I would ring the company you are traveling with and find out what they will do . Kuoni are currentl offering full refunds, postponement of holiday or transfering to alternative accomodation.
