We will be in FW in late March 2005 and we wish to attend a rodeo.
Is there a performance during this period ? Thanks |

Hahhaha...Billy Bob's is a (very) large bar, that is so large it has its own live bulls (see http://www.billybobstexas.com/bullriding.htm).
As for more traditional rodeos...The Ft. Worth Livestock Show ends in February (sorry), but The Mesquite Rodeo season starts April 1st - see http://www.mesquiterodeo.com/. Mesquite is on the east side of Dallas (some 40 miles from downtown Ft. Worth. We have been to the Mesquite Rodeo, but not in its new location...which is AIR-CONDITIONED (ye gods, is nothing sacred??? Rodeo should be outdoors under the sun or stars!!!) If you're renting a car, it will be easy to get to (maybe not fast, but easy ;-) )... Bill

This isn't in Fort Worth, but probaly the largest rodeo takes place in Houston from March 1-20:
http://www.hlsr.com/ in later March (12-26), there is a large rodeo and fair in Austin: http://www.staroftexas.org/index.htm Both of these are big events, with livestock shows, concerts (mainly country&western music), fairs, etc. scheduled during the time, along with the rodeo. I believe there's also a (smaller) rodeo in Huntsville, TX (in between Dallas and Houston) at the very end of March (Walker County Fair and Rodeo). If you're able to visit it, though, the Mesquite rodeo would be my suggestion - it's the most traditional of any of these.
