| Sri Lanka | Ahungalla/Milani Posted: Wed January 5, 2005 10:22 AM UTC
Our family is looking for Milani De Silva (she got married a couple of years ago, so her last name might have ghanged) and her family. They live in Ahungalla (totawatta road), and own a restaurant and a villa called Rocky Point Villa right next to Triton Hotel. Milani's father is a fisherman and he delivers fisheh to the triton hotel.
We have tried to reach them, and tried to contact Triton hotel to make sure everything is okay in the area, but with no results. Could you try to help us to find out how they are? |

Thank you for your reply. I still haven't been able to get any information on them. So if you please could help, our family would be very grateful. I don't know the name of Milani's brothers, but Ahungalla is a small place, so even if he wasn't Milani's brother, he might know Milani's family and know if they're all right.
Please let me know you find out anything. Thousand thanks for your care!

Hi
I have known Milani for some 8 years, and have desperately trying to reach her. Another friend has told me that the De Silva family are safe but that they lost everything, but awaiting confirmation that it is actually Milani as there are about 20 De Silva's in Ahungalle. Did you know that Milani had a little girl last March, she is called Sabena. I spoke to Milani and her father Dan pala on Xmas Day and am desperate to find any news of their safety. I was hoping that maybe they were staying at the temple, and had lost my number and that's why I hadn't heard from them. If you hear anymore news please will you let me know, and I will do the same when I hear anything? Sharron

Hello Sharon,
thank you for your message. I have faced the same problem since De Silva is such a common last name in Ahungalla, that I cannot trust any answer I have received so far, since none of them have mentioned Milani's name. We did know that Milani has had a baby. Thank you for telling the name, that we haven't heard yet. It has been a couple of years since we have visited Milani last time, but we have been writing now and then. We only can give warm thoughts to this lovely family who have worked so hard for everything they have ever gotten. And they're such a warm and loving family. If you do know the name of Milani's husband or the other members of the family, will you please let us know. That would find us in searching the family. I assume from your text that Milani hasn't changed her name? I will be in contact if I find our anything. Taina

Hi
Milani's father is called Danpala, her younger sister is Sujeera, her mother I've only ever called mama, and her husband is called Upul. I am unsure of Milani's eldest sisters name and her children and likewise her brother. I know that her brother worked at the Triton and that no staff from the hotel were killed. The lady that owns the house next to them is called Mertyl, but I can't remember her surname, but know she is from the north of England. When I hear more news I will let you know. Thanks Sharron

Hi
Just had an email to let me know that Milani has contacted my firend who is from Kalutara and was looking for her. I have passed on my number and hope to speak to her very very soon, I will let her know that you were also anxious to hear that she is OK.
