Ko Lanta conditions on Ko Lanta

We are due to travel to this beautiful island in February
Could anyone discribe the scene.as it is now.Much as been seen of the devistation on Phuket. But Iam sure the smaller islands have also suffered as well. Our thoughts go out to the wonderful Thai people who have lost families and the many tourists missing.

HI

The best website I've come across is
www.lantainfo.com. It's also a great service to book accommodation through. This website is excellent & they have updated it so much since the 26th Dec.

I'm sure this will answer all your questions about going. Have a great trip. I was there a month ago & Klong Dao Beach is fabulous & I know they are hoping for tourists to return to help them survive.

Apparantly apart from being very quiet there is not really alot of damage done to ko lanta and they are keen for people to go out there as they need to keep tourism going

The infrastructure is fully intact, no death, no danger, no diseases. The shops are full of supplies and the situation on Lanta is very secure. Dive shops are open, underwater conditions miraculously better than ever, beaches are clean and really nobody has to miss any comfort during his or her stay.
IN BIG STEPS we head towards normality carrying big smiles on our faces. The atmosphere and energy of this island can’t be taken…… almost everything has turned back to usual……….except of tourism.
Nothing missing except of direct support.
Where Else, Klong Khong beach
