easy,
just wondering whether any locals/previous travellers could give me any information regarding employment prospects in durban, or working in return for free accommodation etc. i have housekeeping experience. Are there any major chains of hotels or youth hostels that recruit a lot of workers from different countries? as there is in my home town of bournemouth, england Thankyou james |

Hmm, might be a bit soon for non-Africans to expect to find decent work in such a work-hungry country, but it's been some years since I was there. If I were you I would snoop around some of the big SA websites and get a feel for where the jobs are [or where they're going!].

It may be difficult to find a job in any of the hotels since you probably won't have a work permit.
Some youth hostels in Durban 'employ' foreigners I know from experience. Check the Youth Hostel Page and just send them an e-mail. Main problem is that there are many unemployed hence you have a lot of competition...
