Ban Khao Lak Travel Forum

Has anyone any information regarding how this place has fared in the tsunami aftermath? I would appreciate any information...I can find none and unfortunately don't remember the girls names who worked there. But, I befriended when I stayed there last Christmas and would like to know how this place is doing.

hello, yes, I have some information for you.
Nam, the owner, is alive, I saw her with many others of the workers from there! I don`t know if everybody from there survived. From a few persons I know the name, this may helps you a bit; Put, Misspuy, Peang...these are all the names I know, and they are all alive! I saw many others from there, but I don`t know theire Names, I´m sorry!

As a member of the Dutch DVI team I visited about the 5th of February the place where once Garden Beach Resort was situated. Only the ruins of what may have been the reception-building I could find (I never have been there before) For the rest everything was swept away. I could only find bathroomtiles, readingbooks in German, slippers, swimsuits shattred all over the place. Till the highway it is only a big plain. Bulldozers have done their work too. I took some pictures of the total desolate state the grounds of Garden Beach were in.
