Ko Lanta Travel Forum

Hi in O Malleys Bar in Krabi this year I met an English couplecalled David and Jo Doyle. They told me that they ran a restaurant on Ko Lanta but I dont remember the name and I lost their email address?
Does anybody know of this couple and how they are?
I spent time on Railay Beach which I believe has not been too badly damaged but that ten of the boat men died and other people missing who were on boats at the time.

I met Dave and Jo in their bar a few weeks ago, it's a bar in Koh Lanta called Oasis bar.
I don't have an e-mail address for them, but their bar is called Oasis Bar. Hope you manage to get hold of them.

Haven't been able to get much news of how bad Koh Lanta was hit in the news, so if you have any, then please post. Thanks.

Although i dont have any specific information, i came across personal reports from people who were on lanta at the time of the tsunami. check out their web pages for photos and accounts:

According to these it appears to have suffered less than most of the other affected areas. i hope this helps in some way

Hi i have also been worried about jo and dave as they only recently had a baby girl in december and after leaving them to go to koh pi pi i lost their phone number and have not been able to find any details about how they are or contact them. have you since found out if they are ok ?? and have you been able to contact them?
