Palenque Flights from Palenque to Tikal
Posted: Sun December 26, 2004 04:47 PM UTC
I have seen various references on different websites about flights from Palenque to Tikal, but I have not seen any references to the specific airline that offers these flights. The only flights I have seen offered are flights to go from Palenque - Mexico City - Guatemala City - Flores, but I am looking for something more direct. Can anyone help me with this ?

Thanks

I know that there were such flights to Flores, not Tikal, but I don't know if there still are. I don't think they were daily or ever booked online.

You can get to Flores and Tikal from Palenque by land in one day by bus and boat. See: http://www.mostlymaya.com/Palenque-Flores.html
or by paying an agency to set it up for you.

If you're on a budget and have a little time, I suggest you go by bus-boat-bus.. it'll take one day to Flores, one day to visit Tikal and one day back, but it's apleasant trip cos you get to see sth different and get the feel of Guatemala a bit..

There are such tris organized from Palenque at reasonnable prices.. I can answer any questions if you have..

The San Juan travel Agency in Santa Elena and Flores gets a lot of complaints and some guide books warn of the outfit. Chances are fairly good that if you arrange something in Palenque, you will arranging to hopefully meet up with employees of that company when you get to Guatemala.

If you leave early in the morning each way, you don't need an agency.
