Hello all,

I am thinking about going to Slovakia for skiing vacation in February - can somebody recommend a specific place? My requirements are:
* Good area for alpine skiing
* Budget accommodation
* Ability to get there and to ski lifts by public transportation (I won't have a car)
* Preferrably chair lifts and not t-bars (some of my friends are amateur snowboarders, and they fall a lot on t-bars :-) )

I was looking at the vacation packages available, can somebody briefly tell me about pros and conses from the skiing point of view between:
- Demianovska Dolina
- Tatranska Lomnice
- Strbske Pleso
...
?

I think a good choice will be Demianowska Dolina- ski routes of different levels of difficulty, wide variety of accomodation and quite easy to reach by public transport. Have a nice time there!

To get there you can fly Sky Europe for like under 100USD round trip from Bratislava to Kosice.

Nateisenough recommended Stara Lesna skiing area to me

Hi,
Stara Lesna (and Nova Lesna) are good places but there are no proper skiing routes like in Demianowska, so you have to commute every day- if you don't have a car - it may take you more time. In Demianovska all skiing facilities are nearby.
