I have many scandinavian friends who have worked there, mostly in bars, discos or restaurants. But also many shops, tour operators and hotels are looking for people. Some found good jobs where they made lots of money, while others were working from early morning to late night every day of the week without making any money.

Most of the time you get paid a percentage of what you or the place has earned, so the more popular or successful the place and your salestechniques are - the more you can earn. You should check a bit around. A friend of mine got a very good offer, but the bar had no visitors so she only made about 1 euro a day... ;) After a few weeks she found a very nice job with a tour operator instead.

Many of the scandinavians who were working there, was sharing apartments. I don't know how much they paid, but you can ask some of them when you get there. You might also get a good offer on a hotelroom when you are going to stay for a long period.

Have fun and take care! :)

i have worked for a local tour operator in the neighbouring town of side and made very good money.
around 1500 euro's pr month and i had a free room on top of that.
that included very long working hours though and most foreigners left after working for the company for a few days, because they were there to party and not to make money.
my working week often hit 70 hours a week, but what the hell.
i could take the whole winter off for travelling after working 3 months in that job.

Hi Sara

I know the owners of some at the disco's in alanya.. and they told me that they will not have scandinavian people working there anymore because its not leagal in tyrkie. They have had many scandinavians, but the goverment closed their places for 3 or 4 month because of it!! Then they paied some money to the police (undercover) and then they opened again after 1 week.

So... just dont expect to get job at a bar or disco.. try somewhere else ;o)
