Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Nijmegen translation of a nickname
Posted: Fri December 17, 2004 04:58 PM UTC
Hi there,

I actually have some more serious questions....things that have to do with moving to Holland and living there. But I need to see what happens with me and this dutch man first lol. It's sooooooo hard. But anyway... someone told me they have a nick name "Newo nav Seew"...what does that translate to in english??

Thanks

Newo nav Seew is not Dutch. I think you wrote that down phonetically?

The Foreign Ministry has this website for foreigners wanting to come to The Netherlands:
http://www.ind.nl/EN/verblijfwijzer/

Study that for a bit and good luck!

Breaking my brains and tongue over it but I can't find a clue what it could be.
I am speaking it out loud, not trying to look at the words because as A. said... it looks like you wrote it phonetically :)
neo nazie? LOL can't be this one?
but Newo looks like Neo
still thinking of that last part.

ah without the "e" ant the end
but I can hardly think that is the nickname they are giving the Dutch abroad?
It would not be really fair
so I assume it HAS to be something else

I agree with Danielle. It comes down to neo nazi. Which is not a nickname but a very serious allegation if you call someone that.

Could it be that he one saying this is
a/ totally illiterate?
b/ got a zero for geography and history?
c/ terrible jealous about a lucky Dutch to have you visiting him?
d/ is on drugs?
e/ needs to be cooled off under a refreshing Niagara Falls shower `-)

Don't pay attention to hollow words :)
