Quatre Bornes

Small town near the centre of the island. Busy market. Thursday and Sunday the market gives place to clothing vendors which sell EPZ and imported clothing items. One of the 'biggest' shopping arcade is Orchard Centre. Lots of small shops. Closet supermarkets are Shoprite and Cora. Closest beach is Flic en Flac which is reachable by bus and taxis. 15 mins from Rose Hill shopping area. The town does not offer anything for siteseeing. Slightly busy at night. Few restaurants and eating places.

Small hotels are Gold Crest and Gold Nest.

Hope this helps.

The city side of Quatre Bornes is more for the working locals than it is for the tourists, i.e. offices, shops for everyday items and clothing, snackshops and a few restaurants. The rest of Quatre Bornes is purely residential. Unless you are really really intrigued to see how Mauritian housewives and school kids spend their day, I would skip it altogether if I were there as a tourist. If it is a city that you want to see then make sure you hit Port Louis, which has greater historical and political allure as well as a lot of places to eat and drink at and lots and lots of shops, particularly in the Caudan area of Port Louis.
