Conway Kangamangus Highway in Winter
Posted: Tue December 14, 2004 01:44 PM UTC
Im going from Manchester, NH to Conway, NH in February, and Id like to show a friend the beautiful sights along the way. Does anyone know if the Kangamangus Highway is open in the winter. I do have a sturdy 4WD vehicle with off road lights and stuff.

Thanks

The road stays open as long as it's not too icy or snowy. I have seen it closed before when weather didn't seem too bad. The ice on the road must have been dangerous or something. So could be hit or miss.

Thanks so much. I thought I remembered using it one very early March, and it was still very snowy up there. But the road was clear.

Thanks again.

Also, you may want to try rt 302 - you go by mount washington, and the road is always open.

You'll also pass by what was old man in the mtn, cannon mtn, bretton woods, and attitash
