Hi, I have an extra day in Cusco and I really wanted to see the Nasca lines. I've looked for tours that would go there from Cusco, but all I see is day tours leaving out of Lima for US$200 - yikes! I know the actual scenic flights in Nasca run for about $35, but how do I get to Nasca from Cusco? Can I do that in a day? (I know there's 20-hr buses!)

Hi!
Well, not so easy...I am wondering a bit about the bus travel time by bus, I thought that there must be a shorter way, but maybe I am wrong....but of course there are bus connections. Well, the only other idea I have for you is to take a flight to Lima early in the morning (prices must be around 100 US$, maybe cheaper if you get any offer) and then by bus down, it should be around 4 hours, if I remember well. So you would still save some money comparing with the organized day tour (how do THEY do it? private airplane/ direct flight?) wish you luck to find a better way Holger
