| Durham | Storing Luggage in Durham Posted: Wed December 8, 2004 05:20 PM UTC
I will be making a quick stop in Durham on my way from Edinburgh to York. Is there a place to store my luggage for the day?
Thanks |

Hiya,
Due to the current security in place at most airports, docks and public transport stations (thank you Dubya), you may find left luggage facilities a bit thin on the ground in the UK. Nick

I'm affriad she is correct it is very difficult to find anywhere to leave luggage. Security is so tight they don't even have bins on the platform anymore.
Durham is worth while seeing even if you do have a bag to take with you. Caslte and cathedral are fantastic.

Any advice, other than dragging a suitcase over cobblestones?

Good choice! An underrated city tourist wise.
If I remember correctly, the tourist info is in the main square which is below the hill. Maybe you could ask to keep things there not to have to drag it up the hill to the castle and cathedral...

Thanks for your help everyone. I think I will check into my hotel and explore York first and then make a day trip to Durham the next day.
