| Ayuthaya | How to go to Ayuthaya & Bangpa-in Posted: Wed December 1, 2004 03:08 AM UTC
My friends and I plan to visit beautiful Thailand next year, probably on Jan 21-25.
Would anyone tell us the most convenient way to go to Ayuthaya and Bangpa-in without blowing a big hole in our pockets? Should we Take bus? Hire taxi? Sign-up for day tour from travel agency? Kop khun krub! |

The boat tour would indeed be very nice, but I surely didn't find it affordable at all when I looked into the prices.
I went to Ayuthaya from Bangkok by train. It was so easy I'm still amazed of it! At the train station, just when you come in, both on the right or left entry, there is a little stand where "helpers" from the train station staff offer you their help. Say "yes", they are amazingly helpful and friendly! Tell them you wish to go to Ayuthaya. They'll take you to a special booth for tourist, or even offer you to buy the ticket for you (in which case they go to the booth, get the ticket and you pay them back). In this way, you don't even have to queu! The trip is fast (and cheap). Once you arrived in Ayuthaya, it's quite easy to get to the "old city", I had the lonely planet and followed the map. It's easier to cross the river by boat (a few bats) than try to reach the bridge. I'd strongly advice you to rent a bike for the day, like this you'll be able to visit all the interesting sites in just a day! Have fun and enjoy!

Hi there,
I'm in Ayuthaya. There are many ways to go to Ayuthaya and Bangpa-in but I think the most economic and convenient way is by train. You can stay overnight at Ayuthaya and rent a bicycle to watch the beautiful world heritage places surrounded. If you wanna go to Bangpa-in you can catch the train to be there. It's quite easy and spend time only in a day. If you need the accommodate in Ayuthaya please visit us : http://www.geocities.com/amporn_floatel/Amporn_Flo
