Klagenfurt Travel Forum

Hello All!
Thanks so much for all your help so far!
I haven't really made up my mind which part of Austria to see, however, one thing I know for sure is that I need to travel from Klagenfurt to Vienna Airport sometime late eveing into the night.......

How can i do that? Can I travel from Klagenfurt
station directly to the airport? what are my options??

if you go to www.oebb.at , you won't get a train _directly_ from Klagenfurt Hbf to Vienna airport, but you can certainly get a direct train from Klagenfurt to Vienna South station. From there, you can get a bus to the airport (I've taken it when I used to come up to Vienna from Graz), or indeed, you can get the S-bahn to the airport fron Vienna South.

How safe is it? I might not be alone and some females travel partners might do the same route few hours later...

never had any probs myself, the carraiges are divided into compartments so you can go in there if you want

if you arrive late in klagenfurt, is it possible for u to stay the night and hten go to vienna in the morning?

there are no direct trains from Klagenfurt to Wien Schwechat Int'l Airport. You have to take train to Wien Südbahnhof. Then the best would be to take a bus (directly in front of the railway station, every 1/2 hour, last leaves about 23:30, price some € 8, i think).
There is no direct S Bahn (suburban train)from Vienna Südbahnhof to the airport. You can take S1 or S2 (direction Floridsdorf) to Rennweg or Wien Mitte , and then change to S7 directly to the airport .
