You can come to one of our Belgian VT-meetings. This way you get to know a lot of people at once. The last meeting we had was last Sunday, there was actually another Canadian girl who lives in Belgium now, joining us. Keep looking in the forums or in the meetings and events calendar to see when the next meeting will be on.

Picked up on your post... I am interested in studying in Belgium as well... also a Canadian, but without the french.....I do speak Dutch though.... I am really interested in taking an intensive French course in a mostly French speaking region in Belgium. Any advice on this? what is your VT meetings all about?
Thanks for your time..
Illi

Illi, you will first have to make up what you want to study, then look up where they give that particular course, because not everything is thaught in every university.
If you want to study in a Francophone university you have to consider Brussels or Namur, or Liege, or UCL.
You probably first will have to take the language courses and pass an exam before you can study in French. (Except for some managements schools that are teached in English).
In Brussels you are of course very central in Belgium and this could be an advantage if you want to travel to any other city during your spare time.

Meetings are just gatherings organised by VT members on different occasions.
Some members have a regular day in the month, some others, like the Belgian ones, have it when some one of our vt friends is visiting.
Some meetings can be very small, just a few people, some others can grow out big, just depends if people are available to join or not.
It is just something we do on our own initiative but most times they are announced in the forum and will be announced in the "Meetings & Events" calendar.

have a look at it, click on it and you will see what I am trying to explain.

Kind regards
