Weatherwise, it could be snow and icy in winter, so if that is the scene you would like to see, it will be very beautiful. However, it could be very slippery and dangerous, as mostly you would go up and down on stone/concret steps.

Yes, thousands of steps. It could be streneous to some people.

Layers for clothes. Boots with traction. If rains, wear rain coat/poncho but NO umbrella (strong wind possible).

Confucius and others could tell you what to buy at Tunxi, nothing special at Huangshan national park, though there are some stores.

Have a great time.

Hilarious man!!
Did you really wait for the shop owners to leave during lunch time before making your move??
I learn a few good tips from you.
Thank you.

Huangshan Tactfully Taking Tunxi Treasures

I always use this tactic when making big purchases. Create an excuse for why you can't wait for the manager to return and then take advantage of the inexperienced clerk who doesn't know the real value of cultural relics that aren't yet priced.

I want to climb huang shan this winter during the snow, and am thinking of going on 2-4 december, is it likely to snow by then, or is it better to wait till later?
