Malindi Safaris

Hi, we're going to Malindi for 2 weeksJan/feb and want to do a safari, just a short one! 2 days I guess. Anyone out there know of a reputable/safe company to go with? Any suggestions gratefully recived. Oh, and any idea of how much it would cost?

Thanks

The most common safari done from malindi is to the Tsavo National Park. usually any hotel is able to organise this for you. Prices vary from each company and i am not too familiar on the safari costs from the Coast. On the Scorpio Villas web site they talk about booking a safari so i would check with them and try to negociate a package deal. The park fees alone for non residents are $35 US per person per day. When booking your safari and hotels at the coast, please remember that this is africa and you can negociate for anything.

hi Lizzie,
the hotels generally propose safaris wiht higher prices regarding the agencies
good agencies that you can find everywhere in malindi or watamu choose through they l! in alternative to these two solutions ... there are the "beach boys" that you meet on the beach they have prices also more bottoms. assures that they are connects to company of the place, supplied with radio and contracts the price

I got married in Malindi 4 years ago. What a fantastic place. The sea water is literally like stepping into a hot bath. In the smaller pools on the sand, you can actually scald yourself. The people are warm and friendly. Although, going out of the hotel at night felt a little bit worrying, so we went out in groups and got friendly with the local police! We also made great friends of staff and the beach sellers. Let me know how you get on. We did a safari but its too late to give you advice about it.
