interesting forum this and very useful.its the first time I,ve posted on here ..so please be gentle.

I arrive into belgrade arround the 27th nov.
Are there any good clubs that play indie/alternative/brit pop music? stone roses,blur,cure,Pulp,the smiths etc etc
Also if anyone would like to meet up around the city that we be good,its nice meeting people in hostels but it would be good also to meet with guys/girls who spent some time in a city.I hear belgrade is a lively place!

Well, I 'was' going to suggest that as soon as you arrive in town you pick up a copy of In Your Pocket guides. They're and outfit based in central/eastern Europe and they put out some of the best travel guides I've ever seen. They come out every couple of months, are compiled by a young, hip, knowledgeable staff and only cost about a buck.

Unfortunately I just looked on their website (http://www.inyourpocket.com/) and was surprised to find that they don't cover Belgrade as of yet. I know they've been aggresively expanding throughout Europe but I guess they haven't gotten there yet. So, sorry. But do yourself a favor and remember the name. If you're ever in a city that they report on you'll find their advice on accomodation, sightseeing, restaurants, bars and clubs really helpful. Good luck in Belgrade.

hm... I can't believe it! inyourpocket had a great guid on Serbia & Montenegro and Belgrade a year ago.
I can't imagine why they don't have it now.
But I checked out their web site, and I think they changed the design, so maybe they wanted to update all info on the places. I guess they'll get Belgrade back soon.

About "Inyourpocket" again, I remember that I spoke to their administrator exactly 1 year ago and he told me that they were haveing financial problems and that that's the reason for not being able to update the info on Belgrade. But it still was very thorough and 95% true.

well ive been in belgrade for 2 years now, and still havent found an alternative music club here. mind you i did give up looking about a year and a half ago.

there are some nice enough bars, but all the clubs seem to be fairly samey - all playing dance type music.

so i cant really help you, although if you want to meet up for a drink then get in touch, in organising a social meeting for a new belgrade website (www.expat.org.yu) the day before, but im always up for going out for a drink.

kerp ,I arrive now most likely in the 30th or 1st.

haha small world. well belgrade is like kingston in terms of all the bars/clubs being very similar. (there was the fighting cocks in kingston which was ok back in '97/'98 and the orange peel.. but i lived there for 3 years and spent every weekend going up to camden to go out clubbing).

anyway, get in touch when you arrive. im sure i can at least show you some good places to get a drink.

KST, Saculatac, Dolar, SKC,... it only depends on the week program

need more information!

i know SKC - but everytime i see flyers its always for random bands who i dont like (or rza from the wu tang clan... that was the most memorable one i missed).

seriously though, i havent been clubbing for ages and i miss it so much. you've got to tell me a good place, when to go and how to get there!
