It is my understanding there are a several Breweries in Dortmund or surrounding areas.
Can anyone help with some addresses? Or, information on possible Guided Tours and so on? Any other 'Must See' (not too many Castles or Museums - it might be too cold at this time of year!). Spanish-Eyes |

This one is the most famous. You'll find it in English bottom corner left hand:

| Dortmund | Websites for the Brewery Tours Posted: Wed November 17, 2004 11:39 PM UTC
I Tried
http://www.Baravianbreweries.de not in English either. We are learning Spanish because we live here, but haven't got time to learn German for a holiday. I am disappointed in the German websites. They are not as good as other site that promote tourism. It is a bit offputting to say the least. Any more help would be appreciated. Thank you. Spanish-Eyes

Well, Bavarian breweries isn't a site, it's just a part of Germany with very good beer. But since you're going up north, maybe you should stick to breweries up there.
This one is unfortunately also only in German but of course you could mail them: http://www.hoevels-hausbrauerei.de They are included on a tour (for 10 people) bookable through the tourist office. DAB also take bookings through the tourist office: http://www.city.dortmund.de/project/themen/tourist

There is also very nice brewery in Bochum (just near Dortmund) where you can be guest there and they will compliment you with their own brewery beer glass.
Unfortunately again, the site is in German only, and, I do understand the savings here, making translations cost a lot and for a brewery that do not export the few foreign tourist that will come to visit will not cover the cost. http://www.moritz-fiege.de/
