| Dortmund | Electrical items - hair dryer kettle etc. Posted: Sun November 14, 2004 01:48 PM UTC
Well, we are due to come to Dortmund in about 6 weeks time. We have planned for the weather but we need to bring a kettle so we can make a cuppa tea and cuppa soups as necessary.
Now we live in Spain we have a kettle with a Spanish Plug, but we also have a British Travel kettle with an adaptor. What would be best to bring? Similarly with hair dryers, we have a British hair dryer with a British plug and also a Spanish hair dryer with a Spanish plug. Obviously if the plugs are the same in GErmany as in Spain we will bring our Spanish Connections. if not we will bring our British ones with the adaptor. What is the voltage in Germany and what plugs are used there? Spanish Eyes |

Germany and Spain, and most of mainland Europe for that matter, are the same.

Yes, Western Europe is mostly the same, it is the British that is different, they also drive on the wrong side of the road.
