Hi , I'm planning to go to the Andaman islands, I'm keen on normal hiking and snorkeling. can anyone suggest which is the best area to stay in?
and is the rain that bad during August? thank you for any help steve |

When I visited the Andaman Islands in the ‘80s, the place to go snorkling was Jolly Buoy Island (it is now part of the Mahatma Gandhi National Park). However, at that time most of the islands was inaccessible for tourists, so maybe even better places may have become accessible now.
You do know I suppose that – as a foreign national - you need, besides your visa for India, a special permit to stay in the Andaman Islands.
