Mont Saint Michel

I would like to make a trip to Mont Saint Michel and appreciate if anyone can help me with the following:

1. How do I get there from Paris using public transport?

2. Understand that it will not be accessible when there is high tide, so how do I know when is the correct day to be there? Is there a web site that provide such information?

Help will be much appreciated.

Just try this link here:

http://www.conciergerie.com

Then go to French country side

and there you'll find Mont Saint Michel further down click it and take it from there, prices etc..
Good luck
PS it's all in english and quotes in US$

It is accessible even in high tide. There is a ramp leading there which is only covered by water in extremely high tides (which happen in March if I remember correctly).

About getting there. According to the French railway site (www.sncf.com) you should take the train from Paris Montparnasse to Rennes (about two hours) and from there there is a train to Mont St. Michel (1:15 hours).

There is NO train to Mont Saint Michel, but you can get close enough by train to catch a bus.

You could probably hire a bicycle

i think pontorson is the closest train station to mont st michel tho if you're coming from paris you'd probably have to change trains at rennes. there are buses from pontorson to the mont but they do not run late at night have fun traveling! and here's a fun webcam link: http://www.mt-st-michel-marathon.com/WebCam/webcam.htm
