Aqaba Anyone stayed at the Alcazar??

We are thinking of travelling to Jordan next year, and although we like to stay in 5star hotels, the Alcazar in Aqaba seems like a good place to stay for divers. Has anyone been to this hotel and can you offer any advice or recommendations?

I was in Aqaba in September and it is a fantastic place. I didnt stay at the Alcazar but did see it and it looked just okay. Really, if you are used to 5 star hotels, the only place to stay is the Movenpick as it does stand out as being head and shoulders better than the rest, really good facilities and nice private beach.

Hi Clair,

I know the Alcazar is not as good as the movenpick but as divers, we are keen on the facilities the Alcazar offers, ie free transport to the club murjan where we can snorkel and dive to our hearts content. The sealife by the town is just not good enough. We are compensating by spending 4 nights in a suite at the Grand Hyatt Amman and 3 in the Movenpick Dead sea so we will get our luxury fix!!

Regards

Liz

Hi Liz,

Youll love it either way and it sounds like quite a trip. I really like Amman and the Dead Sea.... what can I say?

In fact, I have been really bad today and just booked last minute for a week in Aqaba - I go in a fortnight and cannot wait.
