Hluhluwe Game Reserve Travel Forum

I was wondering if you could send me any advice or information about how to become an employee of a game reserve or what sort of training would need to be undertaken to do so.

Any information would be great.

I can't help you on the employment front, but I can confirm that Hluhluwe is one of my favourite parks, & if you can get employment there you'll be well sorted.
However if you fancy working in Malawi I have quite a few contacts in some of their parks.
I am going to the World Travel Market exhibition next week, so I'll make some enquiries on the South Africa stands about employment opportunities.

Most of the staff at game reserves are employed to look after the guests (and other staff) - relatively few of the staff are there to care for the fauna and flora.

Game reserves employ people from the local communities as a rule. Some private reserves will employ foreigners if you don't want to be paid or are willing to work in the illegal market without the security of a contract. Sad, but true. (Hluhluwe is not like that).
