Does anyone know if there is any where to stay on the Phoenix Islands, or what is the best way to get there?

I have only been to the Gilbert's, and had no clue of where to stay when I got there. But I had read that people in Kiribati are welcoming and helpful, and would invite you to stay in their home if necessary, so off I went without worries. And everything went OK. There are guest houses on most of the islands, I guess there are on the Phoenix' too.
How to get there? Probably by a freigh ship from Australia or Tarawa or on a cruise ship. Maybe Air Kiribati have gotten their bigger plain now, which can fly between the groups of islands, and I guess there are airfields on the Phoenix' too. Since you posted this question almost a year ago, you might have been there in the meantime and have better answers yourself? If that is the case, I would like to get enlightened :-)
