I would like to go to University Avenue in Berkeley. How far is it from the BART station, and what is the quickest way to get there?

The Downtown Berkeley BART station is on Shattuck, about 3 blocks from University Avenue. But University Avenue is a long street, so it depends upon where on the avenue you're going.

Pull up BART's website: www.bart.gov . You can look at maps of the area surrounding each BART station.

Go to any BART station along Market Street going toward the east bay. Berkeley is on the Richmond Line going north. Trains are pretty much every twenty minutes or so on the weekends and more on the weekdays, but checking a schedule is a good idea. Get off at University and walk up toward the hills. You'll run right into the U of Berkeley.
