Nazca Travel Forum

Hello, I am planning on travelling through Peru / Bolivia next year. We are starting in Lima, doing (what sounds like the standard) tour through Cuzco, Machu Pichu, down to lake titicaca, La Paz and then back to Lima.

I am trying to work out if we can fit a visit to Nazca and see the Nazca lines, but the only logical time to do it would be on our journey back to Lima.

Does anybody have any information on how to get to Nazca from La Paz? Is there a bus route / flights etc? Or would we have to travel to Lima then travel back down?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You can reach Nazca from Arequipa : there is a direct bus. As there are many flights over the Nazca lines, you may have assumed that the city may be reached by airplane, but it looks like there is no internal flight to reach Nazca.

But, if I were you, I would not spend so much time on the road to see the Nazca lines, except if you are fond of them 'till your childhood... The relevance of watching them during half an hour in an unsteady airplance is really relative....

you can do the following
lima-nasca-arequipa-cusco-puno-lapaz -lima
from la paz to nasca there aren't buses. but from lima yes it takes 6hrs and 30minutes and fron Naca to arequiapa is 8h 30m and from arequipa to cusco you can take a flight because by bus it would that 11h 30 m too long journey.
