| Pyramids of Giza | NIght trip to the Pyramids Posted: Mon October 25, 2004 12:08 PM UTC
Hi, will be going to Egypt next month. I planned to take some pictures of starry nights with the Pyramid as foreground.
Is it possible to visit the Pyramids during night time? Any security problem? I presume the mode of transportation is taxi, as such, what will be the reasonable price to pay? |

Your best bet is
1. Attend a sound and light show and take your photos from there. 2. Get a hotel close by to the Giza Plateau, try the Meridien or the other nobby ones, those who have views over the site from the public areas. I doubt very much that anyone is allowed to wander around unaccompanied at night.

I'm also going next month and researching the same thing... night shots.
The 'Light Show' appears to be the best bet. From what I understand it costs about $20 plus camera fee if you bring your video camera. They do four shows in four different languages. While I would like to understand what is being said, figure I'll pick the one with the less of a crowd.
