Perfume Pagoda: Is it difficult to hike?

I understand that to reach the Perfume Pagoda you have to hike some 4 kms to the top[ of a mountain?

Is that correct?
Is it difficult for a person with some walking difficulties? And for a child?
Is the whole trip worthwhile?

Hi

I did that trip a couple of years ago.From what I remember the climb was quite steep and it was very hot but I think it was about an hour or so.
I saw local people do it who looked quite old and frail but the locals have such stamina it is hard to believe.
I was more impressed with the trip out there and the scenery in the small boats( a little uncomfortable to sit in) than the Pagoda itself.The pagoda is basically just a cave with religious shrine type scenario for the local people.
I still enjoyed the day out of Hanoi.

I totally agree with the answer above, the trip there is really worth it for the beautiful scenery. Unfortuntely I don't recall if the walk up to the pagoda was strenous...

We haven't been at the perfume pagoda, decided it's not worth the effort (is it?).
