Marblehead Restaurants in & around Marblehead
Posted: Wed October 20, 2004 10:58 PM UTC
I'm meeting a friend of mine over in Marblehead this weekend. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant for us to try out? Neither one of us is vegetarian & I love seafood.
I'm not really familiar with the area either so directions would be good from off 128N. I've been up to the North Shore but haven't ventured into Marblehead really.
Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

A very late answer about eating in Marblehead: there is a restaurant on the harbor, The Landing, that has good enough food. It's biggest advantage is location; on the water. Call and make reservations. It can be pricey but has a pub area also. There is very little parking there so plan on taking time to drive around to find a place to park.
For great views of the ocean and Boston in the distance, go down the road a bit (south on Atlantic Avenue or Humphrey St.) to Swampscott restaurants The Red Rock or Anthony's. Anthony's has the best parking and the decor is a bit formal. Red Rock less so but still has attentive waiters and a stunning view.
Getting to Marblehead from 128 is something I don't want to attempt. Best to go to Mapquest.

Correction: Anthony's is 'Hawthorne by the Sea' and I referred to it as Anthony's because it belongs to the Anthony Athanas family (as in Anthony's Pier 4).

Thanks, Kathy! The next time I go to Marblehead I will keep these restaurants in mind. Much appreciated. :)
