Am thinking to travel from Yangoon to Mandalay and would like to seek some info. What is the cheapest way to travel from Yangoon to Mandalay? By land or Flight? Thanks.

Hello!
The cheapest way is most definately by bus. When I was there in January of 2004 it cost 4000 kyat (about 4 US dollars) to take the bus to Mandalay from yangon. This is by no means the quickest route since, despite it being the along the best roads in Myanmar, will still take you something like 10-12 hours. I hope that helps! Cheers, Jyrki

I must point out that travelling by bus is quite interesting but depends on the means....if that would be the main task then try it! Otherwise, pls check the flights, there are some incredible discounts, depends on the season. By fly is clearly faster and safer!!! If speaking about sight seeing, without doubts choose the bus. Must see to believe.
