Clare is a very small town about and hour and a half drive away from the city centre of adelaide. Accomodation there is mainly B&B and on the whole not expensive. Try and avoid the Clare Valley food and wine festival weekend if you don't want to pay a lot for your accomodation. There is also a beautiful caravan park that has cabins which would be a cheaper option. Enjoy your stay at Clare it is in the middle of a beautiful wine region.....p.s. unless your travelling in our summer months pack a jumper and a coat.....it gets very cold there at night.
