I am traveling in January from Kathmandu to Novosibirsk, preferably without an airplane. Does anybody have an idea how it is possible in the easiest way? It would be probably through Kirkistan, Kazakhstan, Alma Ata or through Ulan Bator and Irkutsk...

Hi,
There ONLY option to plane is train. There are direct trains from major Russian cities, + Alma-Ata, + Beijing, + Ulan-Bator. But.... Siberian distancies are great. It definetely takes NOT a single day to get there by train. Cheers, Pavel
