From 30 persons and above, we have to do a reservation, choose the food and a 50% advance payment, what can we do folks??

Woah! 27 and probably there will be more since I invited more active members based in Manila (D-Pepper, Syllybabe, etc) and they said they will come. What we could do is divide the group in half so we don't have to deal with ordering food in advance if that's going to work. If anyone (esp. the locals) has a better suggestion please feel free to say so..:)

hey guys...haha..okay will help arrange...I'll check if we can reserve a room good for like 30 people there at Pier One (The Fort) instead of dividing the group and all...then perhaps do domething like buffet and pay a certain amount per head? or pre-order and divided by people...let's check...then we can also have a program of getting to know you and stuff...any more ideas???
But for those who confirmed...please please make sur eyou go and register those who are not VT members so we cna do headcount for expense and other details...
fyi, Decemeber 15 is a holiday here in Manila due to a Muslim event...
Hope everyone has a transpo going to the venue. Taxi is the only way to get there if you dont have a car and also in getting out...unless you wanna walk...too far from EDSA and dark along McKinley Road...hehe...
Anyways, does anyone know how to get those VT items?are thoe for free or something???
After dinner and the program, whats next? Max Brenner is in Greenbelt area in Makati so if we plan to go there, we need to travel from The Fort to the Ayala Center...Good Earth is a good resto as well also in The Fort...let's just see...

Hey Shella C",) Bibingkas are my mom's favorite and she said before the best one you cna find is at Ferinos, but recently i guess due to poor management, not so good anymore :( thats what my mom said...I'm not sooo into bibingkas until...i tasted one in Via Mare/Gloria Maris!!! SARAP!!! You can find these restos in Greenbelt and Landmark if you're in the Makati Area...and they also have at Rockwell area near makati at the Power Plant Mall...
The dried mangoes, don't worry they have this at Pier One..will order a kilo just for you!!!! hehehe!

Hey Cathy, are you referring to VT pens, notebooks, shirts, luggage tags, etc.? I'll see what I can do. I'll ask the staff of VT.
As far as dinner reservation--I'll leave it up to you to figure it out if that's okay. I like your idea. Thanks in advance for your help! I haven't checked--what's the latest count? Last I saw it was 30?
Thanks for the info on bibingka....am getting hungry thinking about it.
One more thing.....has any of you hiked up Taal Volcano? I'm interested in doing it but don't know if it's the right season or not.

I hiked up Taal Volcano 3 times already, last time was in 2001....we went down to Talisay, Batangas, hire a boat from a resort including guide who knows the safe way from foot to the top of volcano....other choice is to do horse backriding but I find it not so advisable.
I think hiking in december is better than in summer, not so hot.! I did it 3x duing the month of March-May.

hey Shella, with regards to your trekking question...
I have a friend who really goes out of town to hiking and trekking and outdoor activities so I asked her about this Taal Volcano hiking, her reply was...
" I spoke to my friend from PTA she said trekking is allowed. She knows LGU's where we cna arrange the boat rental, guide, etc. She will just need the exact details ie date, pax and she will call there and arrange it so that when the group arrives everyhting is set. when you have the details, just let me know so I can book them."
weeew!!! that was 3 text messages (SMS)!!! haha! Just to note, PTA i thinkis the professional trekking assoc and the LGU is Local Goverment Unit...so whatever your plan on doing let me know okay!!!! CHEERS!

Hi guys!
checked Pier One in Fort and they said, the room where they cna accommodate us is already reserved on the 15th :(
three options:
1) move to another venue (other restos at the Fort or still at Pier One but different branch like Ortigas?or move venue to Makati Greenbelt or Glorietta?)
2) move our reservation to December 14 so they can accommodate 1 big group at Fort Pier One
3) divide the group like what you have planned initially

Also when is a good day to hike up Taal Volcano? I know there's a few of you who have shown interest . I'm arriving Manila Dec. 11th. I'm flying out to Singapore Dec.20th and will not be back in Manila until Jan. 2nd (will be in S'pore, Thailand and Malaysia).

Hi there...
I'm okay if we move it to December 16...I'm still game!
I've also asked for a tentative booking for 30 people at Pier One (Fort)...the set-up is that we will be in an airconditioned room (thus no smoking, but smokers can just go out the room to have their cancer break! haha!) the room is good for 50 but I told them we're just 30 so they said okay, but the 20 seats will be given to walk-ins...thus no privacy, but all good I guess...in the room we can have the getting to know you activities to be facilitated by Shella and Allan! (hehe)...but the important thing is... the 30 seats will be guaranteed...so important everyone who confirmed will really go and get their committment if not, then let's just get tables outside and just see how tings will go...by the way the guaranteed 30 is P350 nett consumable on food and drinks per head...
I guess next step is to check again, if those who confirmed will still be okay on the 16th...then we make a reservation arrangements again...
