Isla de Roatán How "cheap" is cheap
Posted: Mon October 18, 2004 01:24 AM UTC
Hi all -

My partner and I are heading for Roatan in early January and we're looking to make reservations for the first night there. We've noticed some places as low as $9 a night. Now, we're hostel type travelers and a little scared of big resorts, but all of our travels have been in Europe. We certainly can live without certain amenities, but we have no idea how we're going to handle the insect-capades down there. How bad is a $9 a night room? Are we going to get dragged away in the middle of the night by giant mantises from outer space?

ThanX

We were actually looking at $9 hotel rooms for the first night (we'll be there about a week total) from which we'll look into hostels or whatever. Is a $9 hotel just asking for trouble?

You will get what you pay for.... for $9 you get a bunk room in West End with no air or bathroom of your own.

The do have $15 room where you can have A/C and a shared bathroom.

Why not try Coral Beach Inn and for $50 a night you get all of the luxury at a damn nice place and it is run by some damn nice folks.
CBI is not a big resort.

Check out my Roatan pages for other places or look at WWW.Roatanet.com for a more complete listing.

Bring Avon Skin-so-Soft and Cactus Juice if you do not like using Deet. I do not use Deet while there and the items I mentioned work great for me.

Most of all.....
ENJOY

Keith
