Hello,

I would like to visit Santander from 3 Nov - 6 Nov 2004. Can you recommend me a cheap (youth) hostel? I don't want to pay more than 20 Euro per night... many thanks in advance!

Hola,

Hello,

well, under 20 Euros... that will be rather difficult.
It´s not the first time that I see this question in the forum, and unfortunately, accommodation in Santander tends to be expensive.

Santander has no Youth Hostel.
The cheapest accommodations are probably
"Pensiones" or "Hostales", a list of which you can find in this link (no online booking, though):

What is specially useful about it is that you can locate the lodging in a map.

You might have better luck with a private room, but in this regions, it's unusual to be offered private rooms for short stays.
The only additional help that I can offer you is, once you have a name in your head, to tell you where it is located, if there are good connections...

Have a nice trip... and pack autumn clothes: in the last weeks we have had some warm sunny days (>25C), but also rainny cool ones (12 or 15C)

Thank you very much for your answers!
Yes, i wanted to pack autumn clothes, i only hope that it won't rain too much... :-)

Hmm... sounds not so easy to find a cheap accomodation but i am sure that we will have success. We, because now i have found two friends of mine that will come with me and therefore i am optimistic to find a cheap hostal with double or triple rooms.
Two years ago, i also travelled through Spain with two friends and it was no problem at all to find good and cheap hostals (at least in Zaragoza, in Madrid and in Alicante).

Not sure about the buses but the trains go there and are quite frequent. The train and bus stations are across the road from each other so you haven't far to go.
