| Chama | Chama area for a vacation? Posted: Sun October 17, 2004 03:40 PM UTC
Is the Chama area good for a vacation? I drove through there recently, but was in a big hurry. Is there anything special to do there in winter? Thanks in advance.

There is a cross country ski area there a few miles north of town. There are a few fishing lodges which may be open in the winter, but I'm not sure.
There is a train ride but I don't know its winter schedule.

If you enjoy the outdoors then Chama would be a good choice for a vacation. The mountains and valleys nearby are very nice. I also believe there are a few backcountry huts for ski in trips in the area.
