You are probably going to have to stay over in Jeongju to the east (the area where the World Cup Stadium is). I don't think there is much near the National Park there except some Yeogwans. That's if you are trying to make hotel reservations or something for an extended stay. If you are adventurous you could just go and hope to find a Yeogwan in the area.
