Is Calabria a good place to spend 2-3 days before taking the ferry to Sicily?

You will find the best food of your life in Calabria. Guaranteed. We spent four nights in Amantea, enjoyed the sea, and the easy way of life, and wonderful sea food.
Have a great trip. Pa

Welcome to VT. Finally, someone from Cosenza. Ma Kettle was born in Cosenza, and her relatives live in Carolei. We visited with them this summer.
Agree, Calabria is a wonderfully warm and inviting region to visit. I'll keep an eye on your home page to learn more. Pa

No Pa, the best food is the Sicilian one! :)))
Seriously though, I wouldn't mind going across to Calabria once (those cliffside beaches look fab). The thing is just that there is so much to see on Sicily still :)

We'll call it a draw. Any food from that region draws on a great mix of receipes from various conquering nations over the years. Very flavourful. The Calabrese have a penchant for agrodolce, matching sweet with sour, while the Sicilians use a lot of Almonds, couscous, sheep milk cheeses and rice.
Either way, disappointment in food quality would be rare. Pa
