The Southern Ocean is capable of throwing the worst weather at you, even in the summer. As well as warm clothing be sure to have an outer layer that will stop the wind. That is important. Woollen boot liners are great too, if you can get some. Be sure they are wool. So boots often need to be bigger than your shoe size so you can wear thicker socks and use liners. Head gear must be able to cover ears, not just the top of the head. Get some of those pads that you shake and they produce heat, for her, if she is one to feel cold. Just may make her time actually on the ice, more enjoyable. What a great experience to go to Antarctica! Take lots and lots of photos!! Bon voyage!!
