are there any flights between Almaty and Bayan Olgii, Mongolia?

there are...however, they only fly when there is fuel. i was in olgii five years ago and we were trying to go from olii to almaty. there were many kazaks thring to get to almaty...we had to bribe our way to the head of the line. anyhow, the plane came in from almaty without any passengers...u can call me at 541-772-0230 if you want more details...good luck

There are flights, maybe only 1 or 2 weekly however. I havent done it myself, but was interested when I was last in Olgii. There are tons of Kazakhs in Olgii who travel regularly between the two countries, most drive through russia... depending on your citizenship that can be a real pain... anyway, the flights are definitly irregular, you'l pay a lot more than all the Kazakhs, but thats only fair, and im not too sure about how formally exiting mongolia will be like, but i was assured that foregners can take the flight provided they have a Kazakh visa.
