Don't know about Coconuts, but we stayed at Banana Beach, which I understand is owned by the same people and we were very happy there. The room was great and a good deal for $80/night which included a full kitchen, dishes and all. The activity center was very efficient, friendly and helpful. The restaurant, El Divino, was excellent and the bar made a killer banana daiquiri.

Coconuts was an awesome place to stay. They were very friendly and the rooms were clean and nice. Coconuts can be pretty lively on some nights but the rooms were pretty well sound proof. Coconuts is definately a hidden gem.

Xanadu was a great place to stay. We were there in June and had an apartment that faced the ocean. The staff (Martin, and all) were very nice and helpful. The pool was nice and relaxing, the beach as nice as anywhere (they raked up the seagrass every morning). Kayaks and bikes were included in the price; a little market was right nearby so we could make food, and a nice restaurant was right down the beach a few steps. The pier (most resorts have their own private docks) has some rocks out at the end and we could snorkel right there off the dock--we saw beautiful fish, sting ray, and a barracuda.

Isn't Xanadu too far from all the restaurants and markets, etc. without a car? Banana Beach is a great value, from what I hear. Haven't been yet
