| Jämtlands Län | Tannas, Lake Vattnan Posted: Mon October 11, 2004 08:30 AM UTC
We have a weeks accommodation at Fjallvattnet near Tannas in July. Besides fishing what else is there to do. We enjoy scenery and hiking, is there much within easy driving distance. How long do it take to get to the coast either Sweden or Norway.

Interesting to see Australians go there of all places! You won't regret it - it's one of the most scenic parts of Sweden.
See this page for more local info: http://www.funasdalsfjall.se/en/start.htm As for the province as a whole, it's not far to Norway at all. You can drive to the World Heritage town pf Röros in a comparatively short time for instance! Trondheim is otherwise the main Norwegian seaside hub in the area as you might already know. As for staying in Sweden, you can see my pages on the World Cup ski resort of Åre in summer, Östersund with its fascinating Jamtli open air museum and Moose garden...Near Åre is Sweden's biggest (not highest) waterfall Tännforsen which is impressive!
