To Bern from AMS/FRA/ROME

VT-ers,

I've been having a hard time trying to find a connecting flight from AMS to Berne.

Now, the local airlines (here in Japan) gave me choices to fly to Frankfurt or Rome. then fly to Bern.

Anybody know local/european airlines that flies from Frankfurt/ROme to Bern?

Berne is only a small airport - you might have more choice if you select Zurich or Geneva.

KLM flies directly to Berne!
Try at www.klm.ch

Example:
09:25 Do 18 Nov 2004 > 11:00 Do 18 Nov 2004 A651
Amsterdam (Schiphol) > Berne (Belp airport)

13:50 Do 18 Nov 2004 > 15:30 Do 18 Nov 2004 A653
Amsterdam (Schiphol) > Berne (Belp airport)

19:15 Do 18 Nov 2004 > 20:50 Do 18 Nov 2004 A655
Amsterdam (Schiphol) > Berne (Belp airport)

but its strange. i can find this flights only on the swiss part of the KLM-Page (klm.ch), and only with an return ticket.
It doesnt work if i seach at klm.nl

you can buy the tickets online and print out at home.

To Bern from AMS/FRA/ROME

Thank's a lot guys.
I am trying to fly to Bern without having to leave AMS airport (for I have to obtain schangen visa, which is a pain in the butt to do it from Okinawa).

About the sleeper traing, Where is Basel?
How can I get to Bern from Basel?

You have to change in Basel "SBB" the Swiss Part of the Station. (Its very Easy to change the Tracks. - Ask the Stuff in the Train wich Track number) Then Thake the InterCity-Train to Berne (Every Hour a direct Train)
The Price in the last posting is with the Train Ticket Basel-Bern.

Fly to Basel its usually cheap and get the train to Bern (you can set your watch by Swiss trains) www.sbb.ch will give you all the times.

My daughter and I are travelling to Europe next month and our itinerary is Spokane WA to Seattle WA, Seattle to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Bern. We are then taking the TGV (or is it TVG?) to paris and returning to Spokane via Paris. Our direct flight from Amsterdam to Bern is via Air Alps Aviation. You can find their website at:

We have a one way flight. I don't know the specific cost of this leg but our RT flights were $460/pp. I am pleased with our fare. We went through a travel agent who is very familiar with Europe.
