hey there !

I lived in Killarney for a couple of months and I have to say that it's a bloody small town and it has a truck load of pubs !

They are all really social so if you find your self sitting at a bar alone you'll be sure that you'll strick up a converstation with someone !

Good luck, it's such a pretty town.

Cheers
Tash

Irish pubs tend to be very sociable places - sit down, have a drink and before long you'll be chatting to someone.

The Laurels is well known, if it is known that you are staying with the owners that will help you.
However it is a small town, so if you can get access to a bike/car, that would be really great.

In my two weeks in Ireland the one thing I can say was not hard...in fact took almost no effort...was making friends.

It sounds corny and cliche but I found thr Irish to truly live up to their rep. as friendly folks.

Just don't go on and on about how much better home is LOL

Im from a little town about an hour away from Killarney. Killarney is lovely and the people are really friendly. It has so many pubs that your only problem will be choosing one. Also, you have to remember that its a real tourist town, so you'l prob meet a few of your own natives while your there. If you meet another american there (very likely), you should go out together the first night so you dont feel alone, then youl both meet loadsa irish people!
