I have been looking for this gal, Carol. She was a friend of mine in England from 1963-65. She lived in Wellingboroug and I was stationed at RAF Alconbury near Huntingdon. She had a sister that married an American and moved to Chicopee Falls, Ma. She worked in a TV factory in Wellingborough. I don't know her last name but she may have moved to the States as well. If anyone can help me find her or know how I might locate her I would greatly appreciate it. I know this is like finding a needle in a haystack, but would like to know where she might be. Thanks to all who have tried to help in the past. I now have a picture that I can post that was taken around 1963. Barry

I believe the Red Cross has a special division set up just for this purpose of trying to locate people across the globe. Check with your local office.

You should email the Kettering Evening Telegraph, which covers Wellingborough. They love stories like this and, as it's the only local paper and absolutely everyone reads it, you could well find your friend. They have contact details on their website www.wellingboroughtoday.co.uk

I'm afraid I have no answers at the moment but my mother (who is English) used to frequent the base at Alconbury in 1963. She now resides in Missouri. I will ask if she ever came across a girl named Carol ( I don't know if she has kept in contact with anyone from the Northants area). I am also looking for a man that was based at Alconbury in 63 his name is Gary Lindsay ( not sure of the spelling)may I ask if you ever crossed paths with him.

Thanks for the response Sharon. I need to be more frequent on these forums. The gals name was Carol and I think her last name was Smyth. She lived in Wellingborough and came often to the base. I bought a car and we spent alot of time together and became great friends. I have a picture I could upload but that is about all I can remember. I have been back to England twice and the last time spent time in Wellingborough looking but a lot of time has passed and the memory is not so good anymore.
